Video Friday, "The Date"

We're really not into schilling products here at The Tension - especially one that smells and tastes skunky - but you have to give it up for Heineken (and its ad agency, The Mill Company) for a series of very well done advertisements.

Yeah, The Date doesn't make a lot of sense. It's not supposed to. It's got great music, product placement, action, product placement - and a very supremely beautiful woman.

That would be Samantha Rex, who now lives in L.A. but was born to German and Thai parents in Omaha, Neb. She's the lead singer for a band called The Attic Ends.

Oh, and that catchy tune running through the ad?

It's called "Jan Pehchan-Ho" and was first performed by the legendary Mohammed Rafi in the 1965 Bollywood suspense thriller "Gumnaam."

The Date, and the sum of its parts, your Video Friday:
