Today, a shout-out to Declan Patrick MacManus, better known as Elvis Costello.
If there's a male Madona, Costello is it. He got his start in punk, busted out in new wave and has been able to reinvent himself seemingly each decade.
He's got a show on the Sundance Channel, Spectacle, which is really, really good.
And, he's married to Jazz pianist Diana Krall.
(Before we get to Video Friday, a program note: I will be traveling and might not have the chance to update The Tension for a few days.)

...and owing a huge debt of gratitude to your NEXT Video Friday showcasee, Mr. Nick Lowe, who just happened to pen one of Costello's most famous songs, "What's So Funny ('Bout Peace Love and Understanding").
But hey, you already knew that!
Where's the SNL clip? That is awesome
