Video Friday (Supergroups)

Per Wikipedia: "In the late 1960s, the term supergroup was coined to describe a rock music group whose performers are already famous from having performed individually or in other groups. Supergroups tend to be short-lived, often lasting only for an album or two. Additionally, supergroups are often formed as side projects that are not intended to be permanent."

What ever happened to the supergroup? Was it just a '60s, '70s, '80s and (not so much) a'90s thing?
(and no, Chickenfoot doesn't count; those guys all came out of bands that formed in the '80s.)
I mean, I like The Dead Weather and all, but who besides Jack Black do you really know?
We're talking supergroups: Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Humble Pie, Blind Faith, Bad Company, Traveling Wilburys, The Highwaymen, The Firm, Asia and Power Station.
(OK, I also will lay down props for YK2 ensembles like Audioslave, Temple of the Dog, Velvet Revolver, Me First & the Gimme Gimmes and Transplants.)
So, yeah. Supergroups. Your Video Friday.

Asia, "Only Time Will Tell"

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, "Southern Man"

Traveling Wilburys, "Handle With Care"

Highwaymen, "Highwayman"

Transplants, "Tall Cans in the Air"

Emerson, Lake & Palmer, "Karn Evil 9"

Me First & The Gimme Gimmes, "Danny's Song"

Broken Social Scene? Crippled Black Phoenix?

I think they'd be considered supergroups. Though, BSS refuses the label. A bunch of the music I listen to could be considered as such, but I just woke up and I'm too lazy to look through my iTunes.

I did not expect such a good tune from Me, First and The Gimme Gimmes! Still life left in the old dogs - maybe not for long though - but they should go for it!
