Video Friday (NOT Michael Jackson)

Unlike many, many people in the world this day, I'm not mourning the loss of Michael Jackson. Don't get me wrong, he was a great maker of music (I own "Thriller" like all 109 million other people), but Jacko's descent into - whatever - was painful to watch.
I then thought about posting covers of Jackson's work.
Still couldn't bring myself to do so (how many times will we see Alien Ant Farm's "Smooth Criminal" in the next few days?)
Jackson did help define the '80s, where I seem to be stuck musically these days. First, there was 1979's "Off the Wall" and 1982's "Thriller." You've got Elvis, you've got MJ and then things start to get fuzzy on the icon front, I get it.
But the 80s also is where Pop (real Pop music, not what they're mass-producing these days) crossed punk, funk, hip-hop, New Wave and heavy metal. And all genres produced something great.
Another toast to the '80s. That my friends, is your Video Friday:

The Payolas, "Eyes of a Stranger"

AC/DC "You Shook Me All Night Long"

Public Enemy, "Fight the Power"

Bad Religion, "Fuck Armageddon... This Is Hell"

Peter Gabriel, "Sledgehammer"

The Replacements, "Something to Du"

Excellent choices, once again. The 80's will be remembered for parachute pants and Flock Of Seagulls, unfortunately, but those in the know will remember the decade (the 1st half, anyway) as an exciting and creative time for genre bending music.

Man, when you started going on about the 80s, I was thinking Duran Duran and Madonna and Prince...I hadn't even THOUGHT about the artists you posted. Cool stuff! Good choices, man.
