A buddy and I are in the far reaches of the state, waiting for a table in a real steakhouse (the only other thing on the menu, besides beef, is the jumbo fried shrimp dinner, to which my dinner companion says, "I don't come to the middle of South Dakota to eat shrimp.")
This couple walks in. He's a rancher: Western shirt and Wranglers, dirty straw cowboy hat, boots. He's compact and has a broken nose and a goatee. The ranch wife (Ranchette?) is dressed similarly. Only she's buzzed her blond hair off, leaving only the bangs, which she's teased and sprayed with hairspray.
She looked a little like a pineapple, according to my friend.
"What would you call that?" he asked.
"Clownish."

I would love to think that you are making up the woman with the shaved head except for her bangs...except I saw her too...Can she possibly find that look attractive?
