Video Friday (musical stylings of 1980)

I was nearly shotgunned to death in 1980. True story.
The junior class had decided that the prom theme would be "Come Sail Away" by Styx. The committee decided on this elaborate set, where the couples would walk out and down to the gym floor across a dock. We even built a pool.
Problem was, they had no one to design and paint this huge sunset they wanted as a backdrop. They enlisted my help and the help of my friend, Layne (who is a fantastic artist to this day).
I was painting the backdrop one night, late, at a warehouse of another student's dad. I was listening to music, loud, when I heard, "Alright, who's in here?"
Thinking it was someone to help. I yelled something pithy and was ordered to come out. I rounded the corner, hands in my pockets, and there was a deputy sheriff with a 12-gauge shotgun leveled at my chest. He cocked a shell into the chamber.
My hands went up - and I quickly explained what I was doing in the warehouse, alone, at 10:30 p.m.
(I had to show him the paint, the canvas and he still called the committee chairman to make sure I was supposed to be there.)
So in tribute to 1980, the year I was nearly gunned down for a Styx, your Video Friday is the musical stylings of 1980:

"Ace of Spades," Motorhead

"Another Nail in My Heart," Squeeze

"Ah! Leah!," Donnie Iris

"I Will Follow," U2

"Turn It On Again," Genesis

"What I Like About You," The Romantics

"The Magnificent Seven," The Clash
