Video Friday (power-punk)

"Here comes Dick, he's wearing a skirt
Here comes Jane, y'know she's sporting a chain
Same hair, revolution
Same build, evolution
Tomorrow who's gonna fuss..."
- The Replacements, "Androgynous"
I'll cop to it.
I've scoped out a dude once.
(Not knowing it was a dude, of course.)
When you've realized what you've done, at least in my solidly heterosexual case, is get that creepy shiver that rocks your shoulder blades.
(Not that there's anything wrong with other alternative lifestyles mind you; here at The Tension we're all about tolerance and understanding, but ThomG don't swing that way.)

So I've been listening to a lot of The Distillers lately. Picked them up from Sirius' punk channel (which I Borgart from my dad, with his full blessing).
I said, "That singer sure sounds like the guy from Rancid."
I wasn't too far off.
The Distillers' lead singer is Brody Dalle. A woman. Who married Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong when she was 16.
She's Australian.
And hot, in a androgynous, punk-kinda way.
The Distillers put out three CDs and broke up. She's now recording her first CD as a member of Spinnerette, the band she formed with fellow Distillers member Tony Bevilacqua, former Red Hot Chili Pepper Jack Irons and Alain Johannes of Eleven and Queens of the Stone Age.
She had a baby with Queens frontman Josh Homme.
And she's still hot.
And can give you a lot of looks.

Here she is doing her best Johnny Ramone impersonation with "Beat Your Heart Out:"

Here she is looking a little like The Crow meets Daryl Hanna's Pris from "Bladerunner:"

And here she is looking young and punk with "Young Crazed Peeling" where she explains her background and upbringing:

Showing my age or my time outside the USA? Of the bands you list, Red Hot Chili Peppers is the only one I recognize.
